Job description

Busy Urology in Beautiful Montana

$1M Earning Potential

Practice Highlights

  • Four-day work week
  • One OR block day plus three clinic days of about nine hours each
  • Clinic schedule is built around the OR block; physicians start with one OR block day and add block time as they fill it and new blocks open
  • 1:4 call
  • Paid call after 7 days
  • Call is light: ED physicians and hospitalists routinely stabilize patients overnight and coordinate with urology the next morning
  • The new urologist is expected to reach 30+ patients per clinic day after a few-month ramp, with a busy in-office procedure volume

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: Salary plus two production bonuses.
  • Earning potential: about $1,000,000 total compensation within 2–3 years
  • Signing bonus: Generous signing bonus
  • Call pay: paid for call beyond seven days per month
  • Training stipend: available for residents and fellows
  • Student loans: eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)
  • Time off: six weeks, including CME, plus standard holidays; unlimited time off for physicians at or above the 75th percentile in production

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited urology residency
  • Board certified or board eligible in urology
  • Active Montana medical license, or eligibility to obtain one before start

Community Highlights

  • Outdoors at your doorstep. Mount Helena City Park and an extensive trail system start right in town, with hiking and mountain biking minutes from home. Snow skiing 2 minutes from Helena. The Missouri River and nearby Canyon Ferry, Hauser, and Holter lakes offer boating, paddling, and blue-ribbon fly fishing. The Gates of the Mountains, a dramatic canyon stretch of the Missouri, is a short drive north.
  • Four-season recreation. 4 mountain ranges, 5 lakes, and Great Divide Ski Area are close by for winter days, and Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks are each a few hours’ drive away.
  • History and culture. The historic downtown along Last Chance Gulch, the Cathedral of St. Helena and the Montana State Capitol give the city a distinctive character. Local arts venues, breweries and restaurants make a lively downtown.
  • Family and education. Helena offers well-regarded public and private schools; some of the schools are among the highest-ranked in the state.
  • Easy to get around. Commutes are short, and Helena Regional Airport provides direct flights to major western hubs.
