This regional medical center is a well-established community hospital serving the healthcare needs of eastern Kentucky. The facility operates a 99-bed department with a Level 4 trauma designation, providing a broad range of surgical and general medical services to the surrounding community.Opportunity:
Physician - Surgery - GeneralJob Details:
- Provide comprehensive general surgery services with 10-15 patient encounters per shift
- Perform adult, pediatric, and neonatal general surgery procedures
- Perform emergency general surgery and trauma cases
- Perform bowel resections, perforations, I&D abscesses, and wound care
- Perform laparoscopic procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, and Nissen fundoplication
- Perform head and neck surgery including thyroid procedures
- Perform chest wall and pleural procedures including chest tube insertion
- Perform breast surgery
- Perform obstetric and gynecologic surgery including cesarean sections, D&C, and hysterectomy
- Perform liver surgery and GI endoscopy including upper endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy
- Perform minor orthopedics and hand surgery
- Perform vascular surgery including thoracic and abdominal aneurysm repairs, arterial bypass, peripheral vascular procedures, vascular access devices, and AV shunts
- Perform plastic surgery procedures
- Manage ventilation and perform central line and PA catheter placement
- Pediatric surgical procedures including esophageal, intestinal, and biliary atresias, gastroschisis, umbilical hernia, omphalocele, diaphragmatic hernia, imperforate anus, and PDA ligation
- Board certification required with ACLS and BLS certifications and laser certification required
- Active Kentucky license or IMLC required
- Credentialing timeframe approximately 30 days
- Nearest airports are Lexington, KY or Knoxville, TN with lodging accommodations available locally
- Scheduled dates in 2026: 10/23, 10/26, 10/29, 11/2, 11/26, 11/30, 12/24, and 1/3 with ongoing availability
Compensation:
