Cardiovascular Surgery | Joplin, MO | $5250/day

Cardiovascular surgery locums assignment beginning December 18, 2026, with an ongoing need for 1–2 weeks monthly throughout 2027.

Schedule

• 1–2 weeks per month

• Average workday: 6–8 hours; surgical days may run longer

• Shared call model

• Weekend rounding with APP support

• Urgent/emergent procedures as needed

Practice Details

• Adult cardiac and vascular surgery

• General thoracic experience beneficial

• Annual program volume: 130 CABGs; similar TAVR volume

• Two cardiovascular/thoracic surgeons

• Established multidisciplinary cardiology team

• Dedicated CVOR, anesthesia, perfusion, and CVICU support

• Separate hospital APP team for rounding and consults

• OR first assists perform vein harvesting

• Three CVORs, including one hybrid room

• DaVinci Xi available

• Transitioning to Epic EMR

• Ongoing work throughout 2027

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible

• Certification within five years of residency

• Active MO license or IMLC accepted

• Case logs at presentation averaging 50 cases annually

• Flu and COVID vaccination or medical/religious exemption

• ACLS if requesting conscious sedation privileges

• Preference for physicians within driving distance, without malpractice history, and available for recurring monthly coverage

Physician Pay

• $5250/day, all inclusive
