The Department of Psychiatry seeks a full-time Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join an innovative and trailblazing program for treating pediatrics in emotional and behavioral crisis. -They will be opening one of the first pediatric Emergency Psychiatry Assessment, Treatment, and Healing (EmPATH) units in the nation which will be complimented by a short-term 12-week outpatient crisis stabilization program. This role will be 50% EmPATH unit based and 50% outpatient crisis stabilization office-based. The psychiatrist will round on the EmPATH unit weekday mornings and then spend afternoons providing outpatient follow-up care to patients recently discharged from EmPATH. Typical hours are Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm. No required call or weekend shifts.
Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care on our pediatric Emergency Psychiatry Assessment, Treatment, and Healing (EmPATH) unit in the Emergency Department.
- Provide outpatient crisis psychiatric management to patients discharged from the pediatric EmPATH unit for up to 12 weeks until they are transitioned to longer-term outpatient care in the community.
- Supervise and teach nursing and ancillary staff and trainees assigned to the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry service.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team of emergency medicine and pediatrics staff and trainees, nurses, psychiatric techs, psychotherapists, case management, receptionists / schedulers, and outpatient office manager.
- Coordinate patient flow between our emergency department, EmPATH unit, and outpatient crisis program.

Requirements:
- Fellowship trained in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- BC/BE in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Available to start in 2026
- Able to secure a CT Medical License
