This well-established medical center provides comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services to the surrounding community. The facility features a 9-bed labor and delivery unit and 20 postpartum beds, supported by a strong team including OBHG hospitalists, surgical assistants, and dedicated nursing staff.Opportunity:
Board Certified - Obstetrics and GynecologyJob Details:
- Locum tenens OB/GYN coverage with potential for ongoing coverage, including urgent need dates in December
- Practice setting: OB/GYN Hospital/Call
- Call coverage is 7a-7a (24-hour shifts) with clinic coverage of approximately 20 patients per schedule
- Call ratio of 1 to 4
- Average of 2-3 nursery admissions per day
- Average callback per 24-hour shift is less than 1, with calls received from answering service
- Documentation system/EMR: EPIC
- Required procedures include: C-sections, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and management of abnormal bleeding
- MFM will handle most high-risk patients
- Support staff includes OBHG hospitalist, surgical assistants, and 3-4 nurses per shift
- Active Virginia medical license required
- Active VA DEA and CSR required
- Board Certification required
- ABOG and BLS certifications required
- ACLS certification required
- Must be able to cover call
- Candidates must provide procedure logs during credentialing demonstrating a minimum of 50 deliveries, with at least 15 C-sections in the last 12 months
- Self-query NPDB report required at time of presentation
- Providers must have a clean background to be considered
- Credentialing takes 60-90 days; temp approvals may be available for providers with a clean background and no malpractice history
