Core Clinical Partners is seeking a Hospitalist Medical Director to lead our growing Hospital Medicine program at Upson Regional Medical Center.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a smaller, collaborative program — ideal for an experienced Hospitalist with some leadership exposure who is ready to step into a Medical Director role and take on broader responsibility for program performance, team culture, and stability.
Program Overview
- ~30 average daily census
- 115-bed community hospital
- 10-bed open ICU with tele-intensivist support
- EMR: Meditech Expanse
Coverage Model:
- 1 Day Hospitalist Physician (7 AM – 7 PM)
- 1 Day NP/PA (7 AM – 7 PM)
- 1 Dedicated Nocturnist NP/PA (7 PM – 7 AM)
Position Overview
This role blends clinical coverage with program leadership, offering the opportunity to have direct impact in a smaller program environment.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day oversight of Physician and APP team
- Drive clinician engagement, retention, and team culture
- Partner with hospital administration and Core leadership on operations, quality, and performance
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, throughput, and patient care
Clinical Responsibilities
- Participate in a mix of clinical coverage and protected administrative time, with schedule flexibility based on leadership responsibilities
- Manage admissions, rounding, and discharges
- Support and collaborate closely with APP team
Integrated EM & Hospital Medicine Model
Core Clinical Partners also manages Emergency Medicine services at Upson, creating strong alignment between ED and Hospitalist teams. This supports efficient admissions, clear communication, and consistent clinical leadership.
Qualifications
- Board Certified – Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Hospital medicine experience required
- Leadership experience preferred
- Comfortable practicing in a community hospital setting
- ACLS required
- Georgia license or ability to obtain

About the Opportunity
This is a smaller, tight-knit program (~6 FTE total), offering a more hands-on leadership environment than larger systems. The Medical Director will have meaningful input into program structure, staffing, and operations, with the support of a physician-led organization.
