Interim Leadership – Program Start-Ups & Transitions
Core Clinical Partners is seeking experienced Hospital Medicine Medical Directors to join our Travel Leadership Team and provide interim clinical leadership for new and transitioning hospital medicine programs across our national network.
This role is ideal for physicians who enjoy building teams, stabilizing programs, and guiding clinical operations during periods of growth or leadership transition. Travel Medical Directors step into programs where leadership support is needed while Core recruits and transitions to a permanent Medical Director.
As a physician-founded and physician-led practice management group, Core manages hospital medicine and emergency medicine programs nationwide. Travel Medical Directors play an important role in ensuring clinical continuity, strong physician engagement, and successful program transitions.
Responsibilities may include:
• Providing on-site clinical leadership during program transitions or start-ups
• Supporting physician and APP onboarding, mentorship, and clinical oversight
• Partnering with hospital leadership and Core operational teams
• Helping establish clinical workflows, scheduling models, and program culture
• Assisting with recruitment and transition to a permanent Medical Director

Qualifications
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Previous Hospital Medicine Medical Director or Associate Medical Director experience required • Demonstrated leadership in program development, physician engagement, and quality initiatives
• Ability to work collaboratively with hospital administration and multidisciplinary teams
• Willingness to travel to support program transitions

Preferred: Active medical license in one or more of the following states:
