Job description
We are seeking an Emergency Medicine physician to join a community hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana, about 30 miles north of Louisville, KY. This low-acuity ED sees about 13,010 visits a year, with strong specialty back-up and an on-site hospital medicine program.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital is a 25-bed acute care facility, fully accredited by the Joint Commission and the College of American Pathologists, with private patient rooms and private baths. The 24-hour physician-staffed ED is supported by OB/GYN, Pharmacy, Cardiac Rehab, Laboratory Services, Physical Therapy, Medical Imaging, ICU, Nuclear Medicine, and CT.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Annual ED volume: approximately 13,010 visits
- 24-hour physician coverage per day; no APC coverage
- 11 ED beds; 25 hospital beds
- Acuity: low; admission rate approximately 9%
- No fast track; no trauma designation
- Hospital medicine program on site
COMPENSATION
- $200/hour
- Independent contractor (1099) position
- Sign-on incentive for full-time physicians
REQUIREMENTS
- Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine
- Current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Active Indiana medical license
