Job description
We are seeking an Emergency Medicine physician to join an award-winning, 427-bed acute care hospital in Buffalo, New York. This medium-acuity ED sees about 32,274 visits a year, with multiple physicians and strong APC support each day, a fast track, and comprehensive specialty back-up.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital is a non-profit, faith-based acute care facility serving Buffalo and surrounding communities as part of a non-profit health system. It is well recognized for women's health, neonatal, cardiac, orthopedic, pediatric, pulmonary, and vascular care, with numerous awards for patient safety, quality, and value. It is the second-busiest hospital for deliveries in Western New York, and the ED offers specialized bariatric care.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Annual ED volume: approximately 32,274 visits
- 33 physician hours and 29 APC hours daily
- 24 ED beds; 427 hospital beds
- Fast track available
- Acuity: medium; admission rate approximately 20%
- No trauma designation
- Hospital medicine program on site
COMPENSATION
- $255/hour for day shifts
- $260/hour for night shifts
- Sign-on bonus available
REQUIREMENTS
- Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Active New York medical license

Full specialty back-up, including Cardiology, Cardiac Cath, Cardiothoracic and Open Heart Surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Interventional Radiology, General and Vascular Surgery, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Neonatology, GI, Pulmonology, Nephrology, Oncology, and Urology.
