Job description
We are seeking a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician to join one of the largest hospitals in Western New York, home to the region's busiest emergency department. This high-acuity ED sees about 43,333 visits a year in a new, state-of-the-art department, with robust physician and APC staffing and comprehensive specialty back-up.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital is part of a non-profit health care system and is accredited by the Joint Commission. Its new $32 million emergency department, triple the size of the previous facility, is the largest in the area, with 34 private treatment rooms with natural light, including three airborne isolation rooms.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Annual ED volume: approximately 43,333 visits
- 40 physician hours and 36 APC hours daily
- Shift times: 7am-3pm, 2pm-11pm, and 9pm-7am
- 37 ED beds; 250 hospital beds
- Acuity: high; admission rate approximately 30%
- No fast track; no trauma designation
- Hospital medicine program on site
COMPENSATION
- $255/hour for day shifts
- $260/hour for night shifts
- Sign-on bonus available
REQUIREMENTS
- Board certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
- Current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Active New York medical license

Full specialty back-up, including Cardiology, Cardiac Cath, Cardiothoracic and Open Heart Surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Interventional Radiology, General and Vascular Surgery, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Neonatology, Pediatrics, Pulmonology, Nephrology, Infectious Disease, and Urology.
