Position Overview

SCP Health is seeking a dedicated Physician to join our dynamic team at Driscoll Children’s Hospital Rio Grande Valley. - Patient Volume: 29k annual ED volume and growing
- Coverage Model: 36 hour physician coverage – (7a-7p, 2pm-2pm, 7p-7a); 12 hour APP coverage – (11a-11p) plus an additional 8 hour shift on Sun and Mon from 6p-2a.
- Number of Beds: 11 ED beds, plus additional overflow space for lower acuity patients after 4pm
- Acuity: Level III Pediatric Trauma Center in process
- EMR: Epic
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active Texas license and DEA
- Board Certification: PEM board certified
- Skills & Procedures: ACLS, PALS, ATLS at least once in career

About Driscoll Children’s Hospital Rio Grande Valley: New to Edinburg, TX in 2024, Driscoll Children’s Hospital Rio Grande Valley is a nonprofit, freestanding pediatric hospital offering comprehensive specialty and emergency care. The 164-bed hospital includes a 63-bed NICU, 23-bed PICU, and a growing pediatric Emergency Department with plans for expansion and Level III trauma designation. Providers benefit from an expanding network of pediatric subspecialists, a diverse patient population, and opportunities to work with residents and medical students from DHR, DCH RGV, UTRGV, and other programs. Research opportunities are also available, along with a collegial team environment and an emphasis on work-life balance.
