A well-established healthcare system located just 20 miles south of Boston, Massachusetts, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join its Orthopedic team. This is an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in both inpatient and outpatient settings while working closely with orthopedic surgeons, residents, nursing staff, and rehabilitation professionals.

Position Overview:

The Orthopedic Physician Assistant will play an integral role in delivering comprehensive orthopedic care. This position offers broad clinical exposure, surgical involvement, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive orthopedic evaluations, including patient histories and physical examinations
  • Assist orthopedic surgeons in the operating room
  • Manage pre- and post-operative care, including inpatient rounding and discharge planning
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and laboratory tests
  • Perform in-office and inpatient procedures, including joint injections, splinting, casting, and wound care
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care conferences and patient education initiatives
  • Share call responsibilities with the physician and PA team

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
  • Prior orthopedic, surgical, or hospital-based experience preferred
  • New graduates with a strong interest in orthopedics will be considered
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Schedule:

  • Full-time position
  • Variable shifts
