Core Clinical Partners is actively recruiting an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to serve as the Lead Advanced Practice Provider for our Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care programs at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam, NY.
This leadership role combines clinical practice with program oversight across the Emergency Department and three Urgent Care locations. The Lead APP will partner closely with physician leadership, hospital administration, and Core Clinical Partners leadership to support APP onboarding, mentorship, recruitment, quality initiatives, and overall program success.

Program Overview
St. Mary’s Healthcare – Amsterdam, NY
Located approximately 30 minutes from Albany, St. Mary’s Healthcare offers a community-based Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care practice environment with clinical variety, strong physician and APP support, and a balanced pace for clinicians who want both autonomy and teamwork.
Emergency Department
- 30,000+ annual visits
- 24-hour physician coverage with 12-hour shifts
- 20 hours of NP/PA coverage daily
- EMR: Meditech with AI-powered scribe support
Urgent Care Centers
All centers operate 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Amsterdam Urgent Care
- Gloversville Urgent Care
- Johnsville Urgent Care

Lead APP Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary APP leader across Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care services
- Partner with physician leadership and Core Clinical Partners to support program operations
- Assist with APP recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and retention
- Mentor APPs and support professional development
- Support scheduling and staffing initiatives
- Serve as a liaison between APPs, physicians, and hospital leadership
- Participate in quality improvement, patient experience, and operational initiatives
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture
Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Medicine experience preferred
- Previous Lead APP, APP Supervisor, APP Director, or similar leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and lead within a multidisciplinary team
