Company History
Since 1816, the Mobile County Health Department has protected the public's health in Southwest Alabama. Originally established as the board of health for the Mississippi Territory, this agency has continued to live its mission to promote, improve and protect the health of Mobile County. In 1979 Family Health was established via a co-applicant agreement between the Mobile County Board of Health and the Family Oriented Primary Health Care Clinic Governing Council. Since that time, the health center has grown from a single practice site into a health system consisting of 10 locations and offering a wide array of services aimed at improving and maintaining the health of people living and working along the Gulf Coast. The health center also has a long-standing Ryan White Clinic serving people living with HIV/AIDS.
