Locum Urology Opportunity | South Carolina
We are seeking a Urologist for inpatient locum coverage at a busy Level II Trauma Center in South Carolina.
Position Details
- Setting: Inpatient Uro-Hospitalist coverage
- EMR: EPIC
- Facility: Level II Trauma Center with nearly 600 beds
Qualifications
- BC or BE in Urology
- Active South Carolina medical license
- Must be comfortable practicing as the sole Urologist on site
Assignment Responsibilities
This is a true inpatient Uro-Hospitalist role, with responsibilities including:
- 24-hour call and inpatient rounding
- Responding to consults
- Managing urgent and emergent cases from the ED
- Performing operative procedures as needed
- Managing a busy, fast-paced clinical environment
Required Clinical Experience
Candidates must be comfortable managing a broad range of urologic conditions and procedures, including:
- Open trauma cases: Stab wounds and gunshot wounds involving the kidneys or testicles, bladder repair, and similar urologic trauma
- Stone management and stent placement
- Catheterization and cystoscopy
- Testicular torsion, including pediatric cases
- Incidental appendectomy
- Adrenal surgery
- Hernia repair
- Endourology procedures
- Hand-assisted laparoscopic nephrectomy
- Other standard inpatient urologic procedures
