Job description A hospital in the Pendleton, OR area needs a general urologist for coverage one to two weeks a month, starting in December for up to 12 months. Pay is $4,081 per 24-hour call day, and $392.70/hr for callback and Friday clinic. Holiday call days pay $6,121.50, and holiday hourly and callback pay $589.05/hr. The 24-hour call includes 8 gratis hours, which are unpaid and already included in the call pay. Travel is covered. Monday to Thursday is 24-hour call with surgery and clinic built into the day, and Friday is clinic only with no call. General urology, no robotics required.

Job Responsibilities

Attend clinic patients, take hospital emergency and admission call, and operate. Clinic volume is 17 or more patients a day, and the surgery slots are filled. The case mix includes cystoscopy (stent placement, biopsy, Botox), ureteroscopy with laser lithotripsy, TURP, prostate biopsy, hydrocelectomy, orchiopexy, circumcision, Urolift, sling procedures, and sacral neuromodulation. Support comes from a clinic MA, perioperative nurses, and a clinic RN. Level IV trauma center.

Qualifications

Board certified in urology (recent graduates who will certify within 12 months are considered). Oregon license in hand or obtained during credentialing. Oregon is not an IMLC state. DEA required. BLS required. Clean malpractice history. Comfortable seeing 17 or more clinic patients a day. Credentialing runs 60 to 90 days.

Working Hours

One to two weeks per month, Monday to Friday. Monday to Thursday: 24-hour call, with surgery 7a to 2p and clinic 3p to 5p. Friday: clinic 8a to 5p, no call.
