Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Urology Physician (MD/DO) for a locum opportunity at an Acute Care Hospital in Potsdam, New York. This position offers a combination of outpatient clinic responsibilities, inpatient consultations, procedures, and post-operative rounding. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a broad range of general urology cases and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Full-time coverage is preferred, although providers available for partial monthly coverage will also be considered.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform bread-and-butter urology procedures and treatments.
• Conduct inpatient consultations and post-operative patient rounding as needed.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for urologic conditions.
• Participate in optional 24-hour call coverage based on availability.
• Document all patient encounters accurately using Epic EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and clinical standards.
Qualifications
• Active New York Medical License (Required).
• Current BLS certification required.
• Recent Epic EMR experience required.
• Experience managing general urology cases in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient management skills.
• Ability to perform a wide range of routine urologic procedures.
Working Hours
• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM day shifts.
• Full-time coverage preferred; providers available for partial monthly coverage will also be considered.
• Optional 24-hour call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM) based on provider availability.
• Assignment duration: 26 weeks.
