Locum Tenens | Ongoing Coverage

WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a BC/BE Urologist for a locum tenens assignment in western Pennsylvania. This opportunity offers a combination of outpatient clinic, inpatient consults, surgical coverage, and 24-hour call. Providers must be available for three consecutive weeks of coverage (Monday–Sunday) and be comfortable practicing across multiple clinic and hospital locations.

  • Clinic: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Call: 24-hour coverage (7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
• Setting: Outpatient Clinic, Inpatient Hospital, Surgical Coverage
• Onsite Requirement: Yes – Multiple Sites
  

Multi-Site Coverage Requirement

Candidates must understand and be willing to provide coverage at multiple practice locations. Coverage is expected to be split approximately 50/50 between clinic and hospital sites.

The assignment includes:

• Clinic Coverage: Two outpatient clinic locations
• Hospital Coverage: Two hospital locations providing inpatient care, surgical procedures, and call coverage

Clinic responsibilities include outpatient urology evaluations and follow-up care, while hospital responsibilities include inpatient consultations, surgical procedures, emergency cases, and call coverage.

Weekend responsibilities consist of:

• 24-hour urology call coverage
• Inpatient rounding
• Management of urgent urologic consults
• Emergency surgical procedures as needed

Providers should expect light overnight call volume, averaging 0-4 calls per night, with a 30-minute response time required.

The physician will work collaboratively with the existing care team and will not practice solo.

The practice utilizes Epic and Cerner electronic medical record systems.

Candidate Requirements

• BC/BE in Urology
• Active Pennsylvania medical license or willingness to obtain one
• Pennsylvania DEA registration
• Minimum of three years of experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and CPR certifications
• Comfortable providing outpatient, inpatient, surgical, and call coverage
• Willingness to travel between multiple practice locations throughout the assignment
