We are seeking a Locum Tenens Urologist (MD/DO) to provide inpatient call coverage in Olympia, WA starting October 1, 2026 (ongoing need). This opportunity focuses on urgent inpatient consults and emergent urologic care during 24-hour call shifts, with potential procedural/surgical involvement as clinically indicated. EMR is Epic.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour inpatient call coverage for urology service needs (consults, urgent evaluations, admissions support).
• Manage urgent and emergent urologic conditions, including nephrolithiasis, prostate/urinary obstruction issues, and urologic trauma.
• Perform and/or assist with surgical urology procedures as needed, such as: Nephrolithotomy, Ureteroscopy, Prostatectomy, Robotic urologic surgeries (as applicable)
• Collaborate with the hospital multidisciplinary team to coordinate evaluation, treatment, and follow-up care.
• Document patient care thoroughly and timely in Epic.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with completion of an ACGME/AOA Urology residency (or equivalent).
• Board Certified in Urology (required).
• Active Washington license or eligibility via IMLC pathway (required).
• Active DEA (required).
• BLS (required).
• Demonstrated experience providing inpatient urology coverage and comfort managing urgent/emergent consults.

Working Hours

• Call-only coverage: 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• Target schedule: approximately one week per month, with potential for additional shifts depending on need and provider preference
• Inpatient setting; callback/procedural time may occur during the shift as clinically required

Skills

• Strong inpatient clinical judgment for high-acuity/urologic emergencies
• Proficiency with core urologic procedures and perioperative management
• Efficient, clear communication with nursing, anesthesia, OR teams, and hospitalists
• Ability to handle variable call volume and urgent consult workflow
• Comfortable navigating and documenting in Epic EMR
