Job Title: Locum Urology Physician
Location: Potsdam, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (call flexible, 7a–7a)
Start Date: 06/01/2026
Shift Type: Primarily outpatient with inpatient consults, procedures, and post-op rounding
Job Description:
We are seeking a Locum Urology Physician to provide comprehensive urologic care in Potsdam, NY. This position is ideal for providers seeking a mix of clinic work, procedures, rounding, and consults in a supportive team environment.
Due to current staffing gaps, full-time coverage is preferred. The facility is flexible regarding call coverage and can work out a schedule based on the provider’s availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage outpatient urology patients (approx. 20 patients/day)
- Perform procedures and post-op rounding as needed
- Conduct inpatient consults
- Participate in OR block coverage (7:30 AM – 3:00 PM, no case limit)
- Provide 24-hour call coverage (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM) as scheduled
- Maintain accurate charting in EPIC
Job Responsibilities
Staff on Unit: 1 FT Urologist (current), 2 LPNs, 2 CNA/CMAs, 1 Patient Representative
Patient Acuity: Outpatient
Number of Exam Rooms: 4
Level of Care: Level III Trauma Center
Robotic Availability: Limited; typically not available on urology days
Qualifications
Licensure: NY State Medical License in hand
Board Certification: Urology (required)
Certifications: BLS (required)
Charting Experience: EPIC required
Experience: Ensure work history is current with no gaps >30 days
Call schedule: Flexible based on availability; facility can accommodate provider preferences
Working Hours
Clinic hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
