Job description
Medical Director
Merion Health Partners (MHP) | Philadelphia Region, PA
Working Physician Leadership Role — Approximately 75% Clinical / 25% Administrative
Position Summary
MHP is seeking a practicing physician leader to serve as Medical Director across our multi-site urgent care organization. This is a working physician leadership role combining regular clinical practice with approximately 25% protected administrative time focused on physician governance, provider leadership, clinical performance, education and medical oversight. The ideal candidate is an experienced urgent care physician who enjoys practicing medicine while serving as a visible, accessible and accountable leader for the provider team, modeling MHP’s Core Values through clinical practice, leadership, and everyday interactions.
MHP operates a dual clinical-leadership model that separates physician medical leadership from administration of the broader clinical-quality infrastructure. The Medical Director owns physician judgment, provider clinical leadership, education, competency and medical governance, while partnering with MHP's executive clinical-quality function, Operations and Human Resources.
Organizational Structure
The Medical Director partners with the COO, Operations, Human Resources and MHP's executive clinical-quality partner. The executive clinical-quality function owns CQOS, quality analytics and reporting, quality-program infrastructure, policy governance, Clinical Quality Committee administration, laboratory and clinical research strategy, ancillary clinical initiatives, innovation and executive clinical reporting.
