Position Summary

The Physician (MD/DO) provides comprehensive medical care in accordance with accepted standards of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. The Physician evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients across multiple care settings, develops treatment plans, performs procedures within scope of practice, and collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role requires a strong commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Order, interpret, and review diagnostic studies, laboratory tests, and imaging
• Prescribe medications and therapies as clinically appropriate
• Provide follow-up care and monitor patient progress
• Perform office-based procedures consistent with training, privileges, and credentialing
• Maintain continuity of care and coordinate referrals to specialists
• Respond to patient questions regarding treatment plans and outcomes

Pain Management Services

• Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions
• Develop multimodal pain management treatment plans
• Perform pain-related procedures as credentialed and privileged
• Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust care plans as needed
• Ensure compliance with controlled substance prescribing regulations and best practices

Ambulatory Surgery Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-operative evaluations and determine procedural appropriateness
• Perform surgical and interventional procedures within granted privileges
• Review patient histories, medications, labs, and diagnostic studies prior to procedures
• Provide post-operative care and follow-up evaluations
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education
• Ensure compliance with accreditation, CMS, OSHA, and infection control standards

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete accurate and timely medical documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Ensure documentation supports coding, billing, and medical necessity requirements
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and applicable regulations
• Participate in quality assurance, peer review, risk management, and performance improvement activities
• Support accreditation surveys, audits, and regulatory inspections

Leadership & Collaboration

• Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, nurses, and administrative staff
• Provide clinical oversight and supervision as required by state regulations
• Participate in provider meetings, quality initiatives, and clinical education
• Support organizational goals related to quality outcomes and patient satisfaction

Patient Education

• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, procedures, and preventive care
• Promote informed decision-making and patient engagement
• Encourage adherence to treatment and follow-up plans

Qualifications

Required

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Current Nevada Medical License in good standing
• DEA Registration
• Nevada Controlled Substance Registration
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in applicable specialty
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification
• Active or eligible medical staff privileges
