Job description
Specialty: Acute Care Physician – Urgent Care
Location: Dubuque, Iowa – Historic River city in the heart of the Midwest

Dates of Need: Starting December 1, 2025 – ongoing
Schedule:
- 3–5 shifts per week
- Shifts:
- Mon–Fri: 7a–7p, 8a–8p, or 2p–8p
- Sat/Sun/Holidays: 8a–5p
Practice Setting: Busy multispecialty urgent care environment with access to a nearby Level II trauma hospital (350 beds).
Patient Volume:
- 6-hr shifts: 25–30 cases
- 12/13-hr shifts: 50–60 cases
- Patient mix: 50% Internal/Family Medicine, 25% Pediatrics, 25% Specialty
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Family Medicine
- Iowa license preferred (IMLC LOQ accepted if no active IA license)
- Proficient with Cerner EMR
- Comfortable treating all ages and urgent care presentations (sprains, fractures, infections, URIs, abdominal/back pain, animal bites, reproductive tract infections, etc.)
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate + OT/callback for patient care after scheduled shift
- Premium (1.5x rate) for observed holidays
- Charting time included in shift hours
Support:
- Orientation provided by department chair and partners
- Business casual or scrubs dress code
Housing/Travel: BAS Healthcare will arrange lodging and transportation (hotel cap: $100/night; flights/rental cars pre-approved).
