Job description

Job description

An established health system in a growing Southern California metropolitan area is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Vascular Surgeon to establish and grow an independent vascular surgery practice with the support and resources of the hospital.

Located approximately 45 minutes outside of Los Angeles, this opportunity offers the unique combination of practice autonomy, financial stability, and health system support. The community has a metropolitan population of approximately 350,000 and offers an excellent opportunity for a vascular surgeon interested in developing a strong referral base and establishing a long-term presence in the region.

The hospital is committed to supporting the successful candidate through a first-year income guarantee, assistance with practice development, and access to the resources needed to build a sustainable vascular surgery practice.

The physician will join a collaborative call arrangement with two additional vascular surgeons currently contracted with the hospital, creating a shared 1:3 call rotation.

Position Highlights

  • Practice Model: Opportunity to establish and operate an independent vascular surgery practice with health system support.
  • Financial Security: First-year base income guarantee.
  • Practice Development: Hospital assistance with building and growing the practice, including support in establishing referral relationships and developing a patient base.
  • Call Schedule: Shared 1:3 call rotation with two additional vascular surgeons contracted with the hospital.
  • Hospital Support: Access to hospital resources, facilities, and administrative support to help establish a successful practice.
  • Market Opportunity: Serve a metropolitan area of approximately 350,000 residents in Southern California.
  • Location: Approximately 45 minutes outside of Los Angeles, offering access to Southern California amenities and lifestyle opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and develop an independent vascular surgery practice.
  • Provide comprehensive vascular surgical consultation, evaluation, and treatment.
  • Perform appropriate vascular surgical and endovascular procedures.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership, referring physicians, and other specialists to grow vascular services.
  • Participate in the shared 1:3 vascular surgery call rotation.
  • Build long-term relationships with primary care physicians, specialists, and community providers.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of vascular services within the health system.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency.
  • Fellowship training in Vascular Surgery.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in developing an independent practice with the support of an established health system.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an excellent opportunity for a vascular surgeon who wants the independence of building their own practice without having to navigate the process entirely alone.

The health system is invested in the success of this physician and will provide an initial income guarantee, practice-building assistance, and hospital support while the physician establishes their patient base and referral network.

For a physician looking for autonomy, long-term practice ownership potential, and the support of an established hospital, this opportunity offers an attractive combination.

Interested candidates are encouraged to inquire for additional details regarding compensation, practice development support, hospital resources, and the opportunity.
