Job description
Aya Healthcare is seeking a Vascular Surgeon for a locum tenens call coverage opportunity at Alameda Health System's Highland Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center in Oakland, CA. Start date 1/25/2027.
- Acute care hospital and Level 1 trauma center
- Weekend 24-hour beeper call and weeknight beeper call
- Approx. 2 weekends per month and 3 weeknights per week; minimum 4 shifts per month
- Epic EMR
- Strong vascular trauma exposure; census busier in summer
Job Responsibilities
• Coverage split approx. 50% weeknights / 50% weekends (about 2 weekends/month and 3 weeknights/week)
• Minimum of 4 shifts per month
• Manage vascular trauma and perform vascular and open surgery at a Level 1 trauma center
• Use Epic EMR
Qualifications
• Active California license and California DEA required
• Fluoroscopy certification and ACLS required
• 4-5 years of vascular surgery experience (fellowship may count)
• Level 1 or 2 trauma experience required (Level 1 strongly preferred)
• Experience taking vascular trauma call and comfortable with vascular and open surgery
