Job description
A Level I trauma hospital in the Robbinsdale, MN area, just northwest of Minneapolis, is looking for a vascular surgeon for ongoing 24-hour beeper call coverage, starting as soon as December pending credentialing. Temporary privileges are available to help you start sooner. Coverage is 24-hour call plus inpatient rounding and consults for an adult, 95%+ inpatient population on Epic, and stretches of coverage are preferred. Volume is manageable, about 3 to 5 cases a week with 1 to 2 of them urgent or emergent, and callbacks are anticipated around 1 to 2 times a week. Call pays $4,140.00 per 24 hours, with callback at $562.50/hr on top. Some minimal clinic coverage may be added over time. Travel is covered.
Job Responsibilities
- Round on inpatients and see consults
- Perform emergent procedures, including repair of vascular injury from penetrating trauma and ruptured aortic aneurysm
- Cover some clinic for surgical referrals and postoperative visits as it develops
Qualifications
- Board certified, or board eligible within 5 years of residency
- At least 2 years of clinical practice
- Experience with emergent vascular surgery, including penetrating trauma and ruptured AAA repair
- Minnesota license preferred
