Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA, and Harbour View Medical Center in Suffolk, VA, need a vascular surgeon for daily coverage and night call, anticipated start March 1, 2027. Coverage needs vary: holiday, vacation, week, or weekend blocks. This role is local candidates only, or providers willing to accept an all-inclusive rate, no travel costs are reimbursed.

Job Responsibilities

Cover Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm daily shifts, Monday-Friday 4:30pm-8:30am night call, and weekend call Friday-Monday 4:30pm-8:30am. Standard bread-and-butter vascular surgery, dialysis access, and local anesthesia cases. About 5-10 hospital patients per day, adult and geriatric population (80% geriatric), 100% inpatient. Average callback runs about 3 hours. Chart in Epic. Credentialing required at both Maryview and Harbour View.

Qualifications

Board certified in Vascular Surgery required. Fellowship required. Active Virginia license required. DEA required. Credentialing runs 3-6 months, no temporary privileges available. Client will interview finalists (physician and manager) before deciding.

Working Hours

Mon-Sun 24-hour call, Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm daily, Mon-Fri 4:30pm-8:30am night call, weekend call Fri-Mon 4:30pm-8:30am.
