Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, Board-Certified Vascular Surgeon to provide dedicated locum tenens coverage in Youngstown, Ohio, this Level 1 Trauma Center is looking to fill an open FTE position with recurring monthly blocks starting at the beginning of 2027.
This opportunity is ideal for a surgeon seeking a predictable schedule, strong inpatient continuity, and zero outpatient clinic responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive inpatient, Emergency Department, and Intensive Care Unit vascular surgery coverage.
• Perform urgent, emergent, and routine inpatient vascular procedures within a high-acuity Level 1 Trauma environment.
• Conduct regular inpatient rounding and consults.
• Document clinical notes accurately and efficiently using EPIC EMR.
Working Hours
• Schedule: One 5-day consecutive block per month.
• Shift Description: 5 consecutive days a week including 24-hour call coverage (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM), with potential weekend shifts.
• Practice Setting: 100% Inpatient/Hospital-Based. No clinic requirements.
• Patient Volume: 10 to 15 patients per day.
• Patient Population: 100% Adult and Geriatric.
• Call Ratio: 1:5 (Average of 1 call-back hour per shift).
• Call Type: Split Beeper/Phone and In-House Call.
• EMR: EPIC
Skills
• Board Certification: Board Certified in Vascular Surgery (Required).
• Education: Completed an accredited Vascular Surgery Fellowship (Required).
