WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified Vascular Surgery Physician (MD/DO) for supplemental locums coverage in Illinois. This opportunity is with a busy, well-established vascular surgery practice experiencing continued growth. The ideal candidate will be comfortable practicing in a Level I Trauma Center and performing both open and endovascular procedures.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Call: Yes — nighttime and some 24-hour weekend call
• Call Response: 30-minute response
• Call Types: Telephone and in-person response as needed
• Average Admissions While On Call: 0
• Patient Volume: Approximately 5–10 patients per day
• Outpatient Procedures: Approximately 6 elective procedures per day
• EMR: Epic
• Setting: Level I Trauma Center
• Solo Coverage: Provider will not work solo
• Credentialing: Rush file; temporary privileges will be requested
• Provider Preference: Local candidates preferred due to the flexible, as-needed nature of the schedule

Clinical Responsibilities

The physician will supplement an established vascular surgery team and provide both clinical and procedural coverage. The provider must be comfortable performing:

• Open vascular procedures
• Endovascular procedures
• Outpatient elective procedures
• Inpatient rounding
• Vascular surgery consultations
• Night and weekend call coverage

The practice has strong clinical support, including one APP and nursing staff in clinic, as well as two APPs assisting with inpatient rounding.

Candidate Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Vascular Surgery
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Active, unrestricted Illinois medical license
• IMLC candidates will NOT be considered
• Illinois DEA
• Illinois CSR
• ACLS
• BLS
• Clean background required
• Must be comfortable practicing in a Level I Trauma Center
• Must be proficient in both open and endovascular procedures

Credentialing & Scheduling Notes

This position is intended to supplement the current vascular surgery team, so coverage needs may be sporadic and shift dates may vary. Providers must be flexible with an as-needed schedule.

Because of the flexible nature of the assignment, local providers are strongly preferred.

Temporary privileges will be requested for qualified providers with clean files.
