We are seeking a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in Vascular Surgery for a 13 week Locum Tenens assignment supporting inpatient & outpatient vascular surgery services. The NP will work alongside a physician, providing rounding, admissions, call coverage, clinic support & first assist responsibilities in the OR.
Job Responsibilities
• Work collaboratively with an MD/DO
• Participate in daily rounding & patient evaluations
• Assist with admissions & ongoing patient management
• Provide scheduled weekday & weekend call coverage
• Perform first assist responsibilities in the OR
• Assist with vascular & endovascular procedures
• Assist with clinic based procedures
• Participate in patient handoffs at the beginning of applicable shifts
• Evaluate & manage vascular surgery patients
• Coordinate care with surgeons, nursing staff & other clinical team members
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EPIC
• Provide care within approved clinical privileges
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Vascular Surgery
• Active Oregon NP license required
• Oregon license must be in hand for immediate October/November coverage
• EPIC experience required
• BLS & ACLS certification required
• Vascular surgery clinical experience required
• First assist training & competency required
• Documentation of relevant clinical services within the previous 24 months
• Surgical case log from the previous 24 months required
• Documentation of first, second or third assist experience in General Surgery & surgical subspecialties
• Specific documentation of training & competency for first assist privileges
• COVID 19 vaccination required per facility guidelines
Working Hours
• 12 hour overnight beeper call: 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 24 hour weekday call: 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
• 24 hour weekend call coverage
• Approximately 6 call shifts per month
• Clinic hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Physicians starting at 7:00 AM must report for handoff & rounding
• Assignment Start Date: October 3, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
