Job description

Job description A Level I trauma hospital in the Youngstown, OH area needs a Board Certified Vascular Surgeon for ongoing monthly coverage starting January 2027, one 5-consecutive-day period per month. Pay is $2,900 per 24-hour on-call period, $525/hr callback. Schedule is 5 days a week including call, plus possible weekend coverage. This is 100% inpatient, adult and geriatric only, covering surgery, inpatient units, and ED consults. Call ratio is 1:5, average callback runs about 1 hour. Airfare, lodging, and rental car are all covered.

Job Responsibilities

Provide vascular surgery coverage including surgical cases, inpatient rounding, and ED consults. Manage a caseload of 10-15 patients per day. Cover call on a 1:5 ratio with in-house and beeper/phone call responsibilities.

Qualifications

Board Certified in Vascular Surgery, required. Vascular surgery fellowship required. Active Ohio license preferred. BLS and ACLS required. Clean background, no malpractice or license issues, no exceptions.

Working Hours

5 consecutive days per month, 5 days a week including call, plus possible weekend coverage. Temp privileges available.

Skills

Comfortable managing a full-scope vascular surgery caseload at a Level I trauma, 403-bed facility, including surgery, inpatient rounding, and ED consults. EPIC EMR.
