This health system operates in partnership with a prestigious university medical center, offering a unique blend of community-focused care and academic excellence. The facility provides a comprehensive range of cardiovascular and vascular services, including cardiac catheterization, vascular testing, stress echo, nuclear medicine, and emergency cardiac care, all within a collaborative, patient-centered environment in Northwest Ohio.

Opportunity:

Board Certified/Board Eligible - Vascular Surgery

Job Details:

  • Establish and lead a community-based vascular surgery program in partnership with a prestigious university medical center
  • Provide advanced vascular surgical care including abdominal and thoracic aneurysmal disease, carotid artery disease, hemodialysis access, peripheral vascular disease, and limb salvage
  • Perform both open and endovascular procedures
  • Manage vascular conditions with medical therapy, lifestyle modification, and non-surgical interventions
  • Maintain a weekly schedule of 2 clinic days and 3 procedural/surgical days
  • Take 10 night/weekend call shifts per month, sharing call responsibilities with a PRN vascular surgeon, a vascular surgery APP, and a university vascular surgeon providing phone support
  • Supervise advanced practice providers involved in vascular care delivery
  • Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment with cardiology, interventional radiology, and other specialties
  • Participate in program development and future expansion, including recruitment of an additional vascular surgeon and APP and transition to a hybrid operating room planned by 2027
  • Educate and counsel patients and families on treatment options, wellness, and disease prevention
  • Maintain responsive and open communication with referring physicians
  • Participate in institutional service activities at the department, college, and medical center levels
  • Serve as a preceptor and provide training to medical students, residents, fellows, nursing staff, and allied health professionals
  • Opportunity for program leadership based on experience and interest
  • Receive a clinical faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level; role is 100% clinical and based in Findlay, Ohio
  • Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery with an Ohio medical license (or willingness to obtain) and clean malpractice and license history
