Facility:
This well-established Indiana hospital is a Level 2 Trauma Center with a 25-bed department, offering comprehensive surgical and critical care services. The facility features strong team support with a collaborative structure of surgeons and advanced practice providers covering ICU, trauma, floors, and emergency general surgery.Opportunity:
Physician (MD) - Surgery - TraumaJob Details:
- Locums-to-Perm opportunity providing trauma and surgical critical care coverage at a Level 2 Trauma Center
- Must be board certified in both General Surgery and Critical Care
- Fellowship in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care required
- ICU experience required across MSICU, CVICU, and CICU settings
- Day shift: 7AM - 5PM with night backup call responsibilities
- Night shift: 5PM - 7AM with day backup call responsibilities
- Starting February 1st, coverage needed for 7 consecutive days, up to 21 days per month
- Day team consists of two surgeons and two APPs; one team covers ICU and trauma, the other covers floors and emergency general surgery
- Night team consists of one surgeon and one APP covering the full service
- Clinic coverage on Tuesdays and Thursdays, primarily APP-led with surgeon seeing designated MD-only patients (ongoing wounds, future surgical candidates)
- 10-20 patient encounters per shift
- ATLS certification required
- Must hold an active Indiana license, CSR, and active DEA
- Clean NPDB and malpractice background required
- Emergency credentialing possible for providers with clean background and NPDB
- Fort Wayne airport located approximately 10 minutes from the facility
