A hospital in the Bellingham, Washington area, a Level II trauma center, needs trauma and acute care surgeons for an ongoing locum assignment starting in December. $419.15 an hour, overtime after 40 hours, $628.73 an hour on holidays, and $838.30 a shift for backup call.

Job Responsibilities

Trauma and acute care surgery for about 24 patients a day across the ED, OR, and ICU, with rounding and admissions. Each shift is 12 hours on site followed by 12 hours of backup call, and coverage runs up to 6 shifts a week, day and night. You work with a daytime advanced practice clinician and cover overnight on your own. Callbacks pay $530.34 an hour. 241-bed hospital on Epic.

Qualifications

Board certified or board eligible in surgery. ATLS. Epic proficiency. An active Washington license is strongly preferred, and an IMLC letter of qualification works. Documented trauma experience of 50 cases in the last 5 years and a case log of major operations in the last 24 months. COVID vaccination required. Temporary privileges are available.

Working Hours

12-hour on-site shifts, day or night, with 12 hours of backup call after each. Up to 6 shifts a week. Overtime after 40 hours.
