Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled, dedicated full-time Trauma Surgeon to join our dynamic clinical team in Queens, NY. As an American College of Surgeons (ACS)-verified Level I Trauma Center and a 384-bed fully accredited community teaching hospital, our facility manages a high-volume urban trauma population. You can expect coverage supporting both ER and OR operations. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional, time-sensitive emergency care, manage critical patients, and contribute to our robust academic teaching mission.

Job Responsibilities
• Surgical Operations: Perform emergency and elective general surgery procedures, managing patients through pre-operative, operative, and post-operative phases.
• Critical Care Management: Direct and oversee patient care within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ensuring high standards of critical care delivery.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate closely with emergency medicine providers, neurosurgery, orthopedics, nursing, and ancillary staff to streamline trauma protocols.
• Academic & Resident Training: Participate actively in the education, mentorship, and supervision of surgical residents, medical students, and clinical fellows.
• Quality & Safety Initiatives: Engage in departmental quality assurance, patient safety programs, and American College of Surgeons (ACS) maintenance protocols.
Qualifications
• Board Certified in General Surgery required
• Surgical Critical Care Certification strongly preferred
• Must have active NYS license and DEA

24 hour in house call coverage supporting both OR and ER Operations
