University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing, a Level I trauma hospital, needs a cardiothoracic surgeon starting ASAP. Coverage runs 2+ weeks per month minimum, Monday-Friday clinic hours with night call, plus weekend call (7a-7a). Highly competitive compensation, details shared directly.

Job Responsibilities

Work independently across adult cardiac and general thoracic surgery: CABG, heart valve repair/replacement, tube thoracostomy, pericardial window, thoracotomy (lung biopsy, resection, pneumonectomy), thoracotomy decortication, and mediastinal surgery. 2 dedicated CV surgery ORs (daytime). Average volume is approximately 1 case per weekend. Chart in Epic.

Qualifications

Board certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery required. Active Michigan license required through the full application process (IMLC not accepted). BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. Clean malpractice and license history highly preferred. Credentialing runs approximately 90-120 days. NPDB self-query (pulled within 30 days) required at presentation.

Working Hours

2+ weeks per month minimum, Monday-Friday onsite covering night call and rounding, weekend call 7a-7a.

Skills
