Aspirus St. Luke’s Hospital in Minnesota is seeking an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon for ongoing locum coverage beginning October 1, 2026.
The need is for approximately 7-10 days of coverage per month, with the ability to provide up to 14 days. The preferred schedule is a concentrated block that includes both weekends and the connecting week.
This is a cardiothoracic-only assignment. The hospital has a separate vascular service that manages vascular patients.
The cardiothoracic scope may include CABG, valve repair and replacement, thoracic procedures, lung resection including VATS, chest wall and pleural procedures, TAVR, bronchoscopy, pacemaker/AICD procedures, and related perioperative cardiothoracic management.
Job Responsibilities
Coverage is expected to be approximately 7-10 days per month, with the potential for up to 14 days.
The ideal schedule would consist of a weekend, the connecting workweek, and the following weekend.
Vascular surgery coverage is handled by a separate service.
Qualifications
Active Minnesota license strongly preferred.
Candidates should have current experience with a broad range of adult cardiothoracic procedures.
Specific licensing, credentialing, and call requirements will be confirmed during the qualification process.
Working Hours
Preferred coverage is arranged in concentrated weekend-to-weekend blocks.
Start date: October 1, 2026.
Duration: Ongoing / indefinite.
