Facility:
This medical center is a Level 2 Trauma facility with a comprehensive surgical department featuring 25 beds. The hospital provides advanced trauma care services with a well-structured surgical team approach and is equipped with specialized ICUs including Medical/Surgical ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, and Cardiac ICU.
Opportunity:
Physician (MD) - Surgery - Trauma
Job Details:
• Board certification in General Surgery and Critical Care required • Must have Fellowship in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care • Day shift: 7AM - 5PM with night back up calls • Night shift: 5PM - 7AM (next day) with day back up calls • Coverage needs include 7 consecutive days, up to 21 days per month starting February 1st • The day team consists of two surgeons and two APPs - one team covers ICU and trauma, the other covers floors and emergency general surgery • The night team has one surgeon and one APP covering the entire service • Clinic responsibilities on Tuesdays and Thursdays, primarily covered by APPs with surgeon seeing "MD only" designated patients • Patient volume is 10-20 encounters per shift • Must have active Indiana License, CSR and active DEA • Clean NPDB and malpractice background required • ATLS certification required • Preferred skills include general surgery (adult, pediatric, trauma), laparoscopic procedures, head/neck surgery, breast surgery, liver surgery, hand surgery • Advanced skills in ventilation management, chest tube insertion, central line placement, PA catheter placement • Experience with vascular surgery including aneurysm repairs, arterial bypass, and vascular access devices preferred • Pediatric surgical experience preferred for various procedures including artesias, abdominal wall defects, diaphragmatic hernia, etc. • Emergency credentialing possible for candidates with clean backgrounds
