The Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System in Charleston, SC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transplant Surgeon to join our nationally recognized surgical team. Job Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive surgical care for patients requiring kidney (and applicable multi‑organ) transplantation, including pre‑operative evaluation, operative management, and post‑transplant care.
Participate in transplant clinics, multidisciplinary rounds, and collaborative care planning with MUSC partners.
Perform transplant‑related surgical procedures, general surgery as appropriate, and participate in call coverage.
Engage in quality improvement initiatives, performance metrics, and compliance with transplant regulatory standards.
Academic opportunities available through MUSC, including teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Research involvement is encouraged but not required.
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited institution.
Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Surgery.
Completion of an accredited Transplant Surgery fellowship.
Eligible for full and unrestricted medical license.
Experience in kidney transplantation.
