Locums | Cardiothoracic Surgery | Rock Hill, SC (SC or IMLC) Why This Role

  • Ongoing Cardiothoracic Surgery call coverage
  • 1:2 call rotation with PA first-call support
  • Comprehensive cardiac and thoracic surgical scope
  • Four PAs available for clinical support
  • Locums-to-perm potential
Assignment Details Start/end: ASAP – ongoing Schedule: Call-only coverage; specific dates TBD Coverage type: Inpatient Call Only Call type: Beeper Call ratio: 1:2 Call response time: 30 minutes Callback: Approximately 2% Patient volume: Approximately 3–6 patients during call Admissions: Approximately 1 Phone consultations: 1–2; PAs take first call Setting: Inpatient, Level II Trauma Center Department: 6 beds listed Rounding: Assigned and unassigned patients Support: 4 PAs; physician supervision required EMR: Cerner Credentialing: Approximately 90 days; temporary privileges available Clinical Details General open and endoscopic cardiothoracic surgery Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), on-pump and off-pump Congenital cardiac defect repair, including ASD, VSD, and PFO Cardiac valve repair and replacement Cardiac and thoracic aortic aneurysm repair Chest wall and pleural procedures Ventilator management Acute volume and blood pressure management Central and arterial line placement Pulmonary artery catheter placement Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) insertion Lung resection/VATS experience preferred TAVR experience preferred Esophageal and diaphragm surgery experience preferred Carotid endarterectomy experience preferred General vascular surgery not required Requirements Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery Active South Carolina medical license or IMLC eligibility ACLS required BLS required Experience with CABG, valve surgery, and complex cardiothoracic procedures Proficiency in required invasive monitoring and hemodynamic management Ability to supervise PAs Availability for 1:2 beeper call coverage Ability to respond within 30 minutes Compensation Rate negotiable, open to your number Malpractice provided Travel and lodging reimbursed
