Cardiothoracic Surgeon opening - Sioux City, IA ### The Opportunity Seeking a BC/BE Cardiothoracic Surgeon to lead and build a Cardiothoracic Surgery program in Sioux City, Iowa. This is a high-impact opportunity to build a comprehensive Cardiovascular service line and keep care close to home, utilizing best practices and expertise from established open-heart programs in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Waterloo, and Quad Cities. ### Compensation & Benefits

464-bed regional hospital serving families across the tri-state area of Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota, offering: State-of-the-art surgical center 24/7 cardiovascular care Level III Emergency Department Nationally recognized excellence in orthopedic services, vascular surgery, stroke care, and cancer care ### Responsibilities Lead and grow a Cardiothoracic Surgery program with strong system support Collaborate with established Interventional, Electrophysiology, General Cardiology, and Vascular teams Build a sustainable 24-hour call model with shared coverage and PRN/locum support as needed Leverage a strong referral base from employed physicians and community providers ### Qualifications MD or DO Board Eligible or Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery Unrestricted Iowa medical license (or eligibility) Unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications Experience building or expanding a program preferred Collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt) J-1 waiver sponsorship available ### Location Sioux City is one of Iowa's largest and fastest-growing cities — a hub for food production, healthcare, education, tourism, and retail: Some of the most affordable housing in the nation Saturday in the Park — one of the largest music festivals in the region Cone Park, the award-winning Art Center, and the Sioux City Symphony Diverse indoor and outdoor attractions for all tastes and interests
