Job description
Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery coverage in Illinois with predictable weekend call volume and strong CVU support on site. This is inpatient adult coverage with a defined pager response expectation and a manageable census.
Highlights
- Weekend coverage need is 1 to 2 weekends per month, typically 3 to 6 shifts total
- Inpatient pager call with average 3 calls per weekend and average daily census of 7 patients
- CVU team on site, noted to minimize after hours calls
- Will wait for license with active IMLC LOQ only, Interstate Medical License listed
Practice Setting
- Inpatient adult cardiothoracic surgery coverage
- Evaluate referrals from Cardiology
- Responsibilities include emergent cases, rounding on existing patients, and post surgical management
- CVU team on site for clinical support
Schedule
- Coverage is 1 to 2 weekends per month
- Weekend shift runs Friday 10am to Monday 5am
- Pager call with 30 minute response time
Requirements
- Must be an MD or DO
- Board Certified in Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery
- Illinois license required, will wait for license with active IMLC LOQ only, Open to IMLC Physicians
- Required certifications include BLS, CSR, DEA
