Seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a Locum Tenens opportunity in Grand Forks, North Dakota. This is an inpatient-focused assignment with a strong surgical case mix and comprehensive call coverage.
Setting: Primarily Inpatient; Outpatient consults as needed
Coverage: September 25 – October 2
Call: 24-hour call throughout the assignment
Expected Schedule: 7 × 12-hour shifts
- CABG
- Valve repair/replacement
- Pericardial window
- Lung resection
- Vascular surgeries, including endarterectomies
Job Responsibilities
Perform approximately 1–2 surgeries Monday–Friday, depending on patient needs
Conduct inpatient rounding and manage call responsibilities
Provide outpatient consultations in the afternoons following surgery
Collaborate with CT surgery APPs, clinic nursing staff, and full OR support team
Qualifications
American Board, AOA, Canadian Board, Royal College of Physicians, or Royal College of Surgeons certification accepted
Doctorate in the applicable medical field from an accredited institution
Strong experience with the required cardiothoracic procedures
Ability to provide continuous 24-hour call coverage during the assignment
Working Hours
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (24-hour coverage)
Call: 24-hour call throughout the entire assignment
Expected: 7 × 12-hour shifts / 84 hours per week
Orientation: September 24
Coverage: September 25 – October 2
Meal Break: 30 minutes
