Job description
We are seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a locum tenens position in Athens, GA. This is a call and hospital coverage opportunity for cardiac and aortic surgery at an acute care hospital. Please see below for more information.
Beds: 427
Trauma Level: II–IV
EMR: Epic
Job Responsibilities
Manage approximately 5 hospital encounters per day (approximately 25 per month)
Perform cardiac surgery including emergent CABGs and aortic disease cases
Round on the patient list with APP support as needed
Maintain open communication with the on-call APP
Work alongside 2 surgeons and 5 surgical APPs
Qualifications
Active Georgia state license (or IMLC accepted)
DEA
Epic experience required
Working Hours
Start Date: 8/1/2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Locum Tenens – 1099
