Position Overview

A well-established cardiothoracic surgery program in Boise, ID is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon for ongoing locum coverage. This is a 24-hour call position with a consistent monthly schedule and strong clinical support.

Schedule

• Initial Coverage:
  • July 10 – July 20
  • August 1 – August 10
• Ongoing: 10 days per month (minimum commitment required)
• Shift Type: 24-hour call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

Practice Details

• Case Volume: 1–2 surgeries per day
• Annual Volume:
  • ~400 heart surgeries
  • 150+ thoracic surgeries (including robotics)
• Facilities & Resources:
  • Dedicated CVICU (10 beds)
  • 3 CVOR suites
• Support Staff:
  • 3 Cardiothoracic Surgeons
  • 7 Advanced Practice Providers
  • 4 Perfusionists
• EMR: Epic (preferred experience)

Scope of Work

• Provide 24-hour call coverage for cardiothoracic surgery cases
• Perform and manage a variety of cardiac and thoracic procedures
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary surgical team

Preferred Skillsets:

• Complex coronary surgery
• ECMO
• Valve repair/replacement
• Minimally invasive cardiac/thoracic surgery
• Complex aortic surgery
• Thoracic surgery and atrial fibrillation procedures

Requirements

• Board Certification: Cardiothoracic Surgery (BC/BE)
• License: Active Idaho license (required – no licensing available)
• DEA: Required
• CSR: Idaho required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years
