Rates: Open rates - willing to present using pay rates you suggest (!!!)

Opportunity Highlights

• Start Date: May 15, 2026.

• Schedule: Mixed 12-hour (7 PM – 7 AM) and 24-hour (7 AM – 7 AM) call shifts.

• Call Requirements: 30-minute response time. On-site presence is not required after morning rounding unless an urgent/emergent issue arises.

• Support: Strong Physician Assistant (PA) coverage. PAs handle initial consults, take first call, and perform Endovascular Saphenous Vein Harvesting (EVH).

• EMR: Meditech.

• Privileging: Temporary privileges available (30-day timeline).

Clinical Scope & Volume

The surgeon will lead the cardiac surgical service during their scheduled shifts, collaborating closely with the mid-level team.

• Typical Cases: Open Heart (Bypass Surgery is a mandatory requirement), Carotid, and potentially Lung cases.

• Daily Volume: 1–3 surgical cases per day (approximately 133 cases annually).

• Admissions: 1–3 admissions while on call.

• Rounding: 2–4 hours in the morning with the PA, depending on the current patient census.

Provider Requirements

• Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiac or Thoracic Surgery (or both).

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.

• Required Skills: Must be able to perform Bypass Surgery.

• Licensure: Active Maryland (MD) Medical License and Maryland CSR (Required).

• IMLC: Not considered for this location.
