Why Bassett Healthcare Network? Bassett Healthcare Network is an integrated health system that delivers comprehensive care to rural communities across central New York. Anchored by Bassett Medical Center, a teaching hospital in Cooperstown affiliated with Columbia University, the network includes six hospitals, more than two dozen community health centers, and a full spectrum of specialty services. With a mission rooted in improving the health of the populations it serves, Bassett combines academic medicine with a strong focus on primary and preventive care. Physicians and providers enjoy a collaborative, mission-driven environment supported by robust infrastructure, clinical research opportunities, and a longstanding commitment to education, innovation, and community wellness.

Bassett Health Network is centered in Cooperstown, New York, a charming village located in upstate New York which offers an exceptional quality of life. New York City, Syracuse, Albany, Binghamton, and Utica are quickly and easily accessible by the state’s well-integrated highway system. The town and the eight counties served by this system are part of the land between the rolling hills of the Catskill Mountains and the Mohawk Valley containing farms, green meadows, lakes, and rivers. Cooperstown itself is nestled at the base of one of the most beautiful lakes in the state, Otsego Lake.

The region has long attracted families through the abundance of activities for people of all ages. Summer activities include swimming, biking, hiking, fishing, and boating. The autumn is quite spectacular with a dazzling display of foliage. Winter fun, starting with the first snowfall, brings out cross country and downhill skis, snowshoes, and sleds.

For physicians, Bassett Health offers an uncommon opportunity to practice sophisticated, “big city,” medicine in an exceptionally beautiful and welcoming rural area of the country.

Bassett Healthcare Network provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related condition), age, national origin or ancestry, citizenship, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression (including transgender status), genetic predisposition or carrier status, military or veteran status, familial status, status as a victim of domestic violence, or any other status protected by law.
