Rates: $3000/24 hours

Opportunity Highlights

• Start Date: ASAP through December 2026.

• Schedule: 24-hour Trauma Call (0700–0700).

• Volume: Approximately 19 days of coverage needed per month.

• Patient Mix: Ages 15+ (Adolescent through Geriatric).

• Workload: Low surgical volume (average 1 case/month; up to 3/month in summer).

• Support: The Trauma team assists with rounding; no additional dedicated support staff.

Clinical Scope & Procedures

While the daily call volume is manageable, the surgeon must be prepared for high-acuity trauma presentations requiring specialized reconstructive skill sets.

Required Procedures:

• Traumatic Hand Reconstruction: Management of complex hand injuries and digit repairs.

• Soft Tissue Coverage: Skin grafts and various flap procedures (local, regional, or free).

• General Reconstruction: Facial laceration repairs, scar revisions, and minor burn care.

Clinic Responsibilities:

• In-person response required only when procedures are necessary.

• Follow-up support via the Trauma Clinic (Tuesdays, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM).

• Note: Clinic volume is rare (unlikely to exceed 4 follow-ups per week).

Provider Requirements

• Board Status: Board Certified in Plastic Surgery (Must be boarded within 5 years of training).

  • No Board Eligible (BE) candidates accepted.

• Licensure: Active Michigan (MI) Full License in hand at submission.

  • No IMLC or "willing to obtain" candidates.

• Certifications: BLS and ACLS are highly preferred.

• Documentation: Self-Query NPDB (pulled within the current month) required at time of presentation.
