Dually Trained Neurosurgery/Endovascular Locum Opportunity – South Carolina

Position Overview:
Seeking dually trained Neurosurgery + Neuroendovascular physicians ONLY for locum coverage at a busy Level II Trauma Center in South Carolina. This role supports stroke intervention services and neurosurgical trauma call coverage.

⚠️ Important:

• Must be dually trained in Neurosurgery AND Neuroendovascular
• Neurointerventional Radiologists will NOT be considered
• Active South Carolina license required (in hand)

Assignment Details

• Start: Ongoing (coverage for PTO, CME, call support)
• Schedule: Approx. 4 days per month (variable based on need)
• Call Type: Trauma + Stroke Intervention
• EMR: eClinicalWorks
• Support: No mid-level support

Practice Setting

• ~300+ bed acute care hospital
• Level II Trauma Center with 24/7 ER
• Teaching facility with residents
• Full-service hospital including stroke, spine, cardiac, ICU, and oncology
• 24/7 hospitalists and intensivists in-house

Work Details

• ED Consults (Neurosurgery/Trauma): ~6–10 per shift (varies by acuity)
• Stroke Interventions: Required (dually trained role)
• Volume: Moderate to high; call can vary from manageable to very busy

Requirements

• Board Certified/Eligible in Neurosurgery
• Fellowship training in Neuroendovascular required
• Active SC License (required at submission)

Additional Info

• Coverage need driven by PTO, CME, and call support
• Established permanent team in place
