Neurosurgeon – 24-Hour Call Locum Tenens- Minot, ND - (DM)

• Neurosurgery locum tenens opportunity with 24/7 call coverage
• 24-hour call shifts while on assignment
• Level II Trauma setting
• Approximately 12–15 patients per day
• Inpatient and outpatient consultations
• Typical cases include spine trauma, spinal infections, cervical spine conditions, compression fractures, and subdural hematomas
• Work alongside an established neurosurgical team
• Office assistant and RN support
• Cerner EMR
• Credentialing timeline approximately 30–60 days; temporary privileges may be available

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive neurosurgical consultation and management
• Evaluate inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical cases
• Manage urgent and emergent neurosurgical conditions
• Participate in 24-hour call coverage
• Perform appropriate neurosurgical procedures based on training and privileges
• Collaborate with the lead neurosurgeon and multidisciplinary team
• Provide consultation for trauma and complex neurosurgical cases

Typical Case Mix

• Compression fractures
• Spinal infections
• Cervical spine cases
• Craniotomy
• Subdural hematomas
• Additional cranial and spine cases as discussed with the lead neurosurgeon

Requirements

• MD/DO specializing in Neurosurgery
• Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS)
• Active North Dakota license preferred
• IMLC candidates considered with active LOQ in hand at submission
• Comfortable providing 24-hour call coverage
• Spine experience preferred
• Aneurysm clipping experience preferred
• Specific procedural requirements will be reviewed with the lead neurosurgeon during the interview
